Blackout Salad | GF

By Katrina Yoneda - March 23, 2018

This salad got its name when Escondido County encountered a city-wide blackout one year. I had my best friend since Kindergarten over & she requested this salad. This was before we knew we’d be eating a romantic candlelight dinner together ;)

Banana Chocolate Chip Bread w/ brown sugar glaze

By Katrina Yoneda - March 16, 2018

Do you find yourself in a brown banana predicament?!?! Use those nasty speckled soft bananas to make your whole house smell like a damn bakery!!

There are SO many banana bread recipes out there that it’s hard to make my case for this being the absolute “best” one. But if I’m being honest, it totally is! I don’t like to throw that term around loosely, but it’s just the real honest to goodness truth.

Buffalo Tempeh Tacos | Vegan + GF

By Katrina Yoneda - March 13, 2018

If you’ve never had tempeh it can be a little intimidating. One look at it can make your eyes the size of golf balls. It basically looks like a block of nuts hahaha!! Don’t worry—it’s all about the flavor & cooking process that makes this recipe DIVINE.

Peruvian Stuffed Avocado Shrimp Salad

By Katrina Yoneda - March 06, 2018

My gal pal & I went to a new Peruvian restaurant in town & I’ve been inspired to cook outside of the box ever since ;) This recipe happened to pop up on my Pinterest (FATE)! This stuffed avocado shrimp salad is a popular Peruvian dish known as Palta Rellena! This recipe is most definitely a Pinterest nail <3

Creamy avocado stuffed with a juicy shrimp salad & topped with a zesty cilantro lime sauce. It’s super fresh, bright, tangy, creamy & downright refreshing!

Tuna Casserole

By Katrina Yoneda - February 28, 2018

I’m not going to lie; this was one of the hardest recipes for me to get on paper. Why? Whenever I make this I’m usually skipping about the kitchen & sprinkling a little bit of this, a little bit of that, & A LOT of salt (we all know this by now). It is extremely difficult to keep track of what I actually put in it. I think I did a pretty damn good job though. It tastes allllmost exactly the same as when I don’t measure, *shrugs* almost! It’s still fudging DELISH.

Dresser Makeover

By Katrina Yoneda - February 26, 2018

This little project may look like a NAIL, but it sure felt like a FAIL. I legit cussed at this dresser for weeks! I am glad it’s done & I am 100% happy with the end result. The process, however, can kiss my ass ;)

Let me tell you what I did & what I’d do differently next time; IF there’s a next time!

I’ve heard that chalk paint is “sooooo easy”. No stripping, no sanding, no priming etc. Sounds GREAT, right?! Thinking to myself I’d be able to finish it in one weekend—SYYYKE.

Brazilian Fish Stew

By Katrina Yoneda - February 20, 2018

This is an easy peasy lemon squeezy weeknight dinner to make!! Not only is it easy as hell, but it also packs a BIG punch with flavor! There are literally only THREE ingredients to chop; prep doesn’t get much easier than that! Leave the cayenne out if you’re cooking for children (obvi) ;)

This dish is light yet extremely hearty!! Full fulfillment on a 10/10 scale!

Champagne Sabayon

By Katrina Yoneda - February 17, 2018

This recipe goes back to my culinary school days at the Art Institute! I can literally remember my chef talking about the simplicity, but also the importance of this French-inspired recipe! It’s typically served with fresh fruit, & sometimes sponge cake.

Vanilla + Raspberry Cake w/ Champagne Soak

By Katrina Yoneda - February 13, 2018

This cake is a MOTHER. FUDGING. BEAST!!

This cake takes the cake!! Get itttt??!! Sorry, couldn’t pass up a bad cake joke! It literally took me one full day to defeat this thing (meringue kisses included). The result: BEYOND worth it. C’mon, this cake is soaked in champagne syrup; if that doesn’t scream Valentine’s Day then I don’t know what does!

Chocolate Dulce De Leche Tart

By Katrina Yoneda - February 12, 2018

I truly can’t put into words how phenomenal this tart is!! If you make one dessert from my blog, MAKE THIS. I guarantee you won’t regret it. It may seem a little daunting but I promise you, this recipe is way easier to make than you think!

The hardest part is obtaining a tart pan (FYI sur la table $11). No, target doesn’t carry them. I KNOW, wth—they have everything!!
